Michelle and Alicia in Conchas Chinas, Mexico
April 6, 2008 | Filed Under ShootStyle Wedding | Leave a Comment
Michelle traveled to beautiful Conchas Chinas, Mexico, to photograph the destination wedding of Donny and Melanie, a fantastic and fun couple! Michelle needed a second shooter, and fortunately Alicia was able to travel down to Mexico with Michelle to help her out! They photographed Donny and Melanie over two days- the first day they photographed a portrait session in downtown Puerto Vallarta, and the second day they photographed their destination wedding.

…at Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio in Warwick RI!
The lovely Carolyn Dutra allowed us full access to the studio space (and costume vault!) at her fabulous Warwick RI dance studio location. http://www.carolyndutradancestudio.com/, and invited a bevy of her young dancers to be our models.
We were joined by Jenny DiMucci, make-up artist extraordinaire (contact 401.487.6055), and ShootStyle photographers Jamie Wexler, Michelle Turner, Alicia Williams & Stacey Doyle. All the gals were fantastic & the day just flew by!
Thank you all, and especially to Carolyn & Juliette for helping to set the stage for a great experience.

Earl and Jamie at the Boston Harbor Hotel
March 30, 2008 | Filed Under ShootStyle Wedding | Leave a Comment
This past Fourth of July Weekend, Earl had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Cara and Matt, a truly fun, warm Boston couple. The shoot was going to be logistically a little complicated, as the guys were getting ready in the North End, the gals were getting ready at the Boston Harbor Hotel, the ceremony was going to be at the Glavin Chapel at Babson College in Wellesley, and the reception was back at the Boston Harbor again. Wow!
Photography was important to Cara and Matt, who wanted simultaneous coverage in multiple locations so Earl definitely needed a second photographer. As luck would have it, Jamie was available to help him out. Any day shooting with Jamie is guaranteed to be full of surprises, but this day held an extra special surprise. While Jamie was shooting the fellas getting ready, he thought that one of the guys in the wedding party looked familiar; it was Scott, whose Cape Cod wedding Jamie was about to shoot in a couple of weeks!
So Cara and Matt were lucky to have Jamie as a second photographer, and Jamie’s couple, Deanna and Scott, got a preview of the talented Mr. Wexler in action! Here are a few of our favorite photos from the day:

Trash the Dress - the Shootstyle way!

This opportunity came to Jeff Newcum during a busy time in the wedding season, so only 2 members of the ShootStyle clan joined the model for a dress trashing. That didn’t slow down the pace of the shooting, however, as they shot in an abandoned church in West Boylston and a Dam in Clinton, finally jumping into the cool water where the really ass kicking photos live.

The Smart and the Beautiful

Our third event took place at the Mathworks in Natick, MA. With this event, we had a specific strategy in mind: see what we could accomplish with multiple off-camera lights. In addition to having a beautiful model, this event had our best turn out of photographers yet, with 7 photographers competing for the poor model’s attention!

Training Day

3 photographers, one model, and one very chilly January day marked the 2nd Shootstyle event. We started out near an old train car outside, until the model’s lips started turning blue! Then we moved into Worcester’s Union Station for some retro styled fun!

A Shotgun Bridal

What happens when you take a group of New England wedding photographers out into the woods with an adventurous bride and a shotgun? Magic! This was the very first Shootstyle photo session, and the one where it all came together for its members.
